I've found that the easiest way to alternate skeins without a weird jog or holes is to alternate every round, and not twist the yarns at all.  However, we are a small operation and it may take 2-3 weeks or more to get it headed your way, especially if we are at a show. I usually alternate three skeins in the round when I'm using hand dyed yarn (always regret it when I don't), I believe it's called the helix.
