One of the smaller, less-overrun places to stay in Gunnison National Forest, McClure Campground offers simple, rustic camping spots close to Lee Creek. We we even got to listen to live music from Garlic Mike's in the evening. The campground stretches out along Gunnison River among Cottonwoods and shrubs with several sites teetering on the river's banks. 50" width limit on this trail. This is a great destination for fishermen or anyone that enjoys falling asleep to the sounds of the river!Highly recommend for beginning campers.
